CARD: Coloured Ink on Black

Given a choice would you prefer to do a big scrapbooking project or small individual notes when leaving a bunch of awesome peeps? I had bought an entire blank binder book ready to embark on a week's project before my last day, but I eventually chose the former.

CARD: Cut-Outs. From 2012.

Long overdue draft that was not posted. (: The big letter was cut out with a pen knife on all sides except the "spine" at the right hand side of the letter to make space for the big cup. This card was done in the wee hours when I had completely lost control over my handwriting and strength in my hands for tracing. An area for improvement will definitely be better, clearer and cleaner lines, cut and drawn.

The piece in the centre is a normal chip board from a set that I had with me.

Gonna start posting out all my drafts from 2012 real soon. Hang in there! ;)

Post-It Culture (:

Ever since I'm exposed to work that requires me to be seated to a desk, I've been pretty good friends with Mr Post, It. I'm quite surprised to find how widely used it is in my current office. Post-its to inform, post-its coming with sweet gifts and thoughts. It does perk me up when I'm having one of my in-the-gutters days. Like these photos here, are mostly post-its with love gifts. (:

Chocolates, sweets, fruits, drinks, instant porridge, instant noodles and today's big surprise Breakfast Set. I believe anyone would melt at it! What more a foodie, or a hungry over worked colleague? (Remember the recent stats of employers being fined for having too many employees clocking too many OT hours? Kee!) Nonetheless, the stress is here to stay, so is the post-it culture! So, what to expect? What to do? How to jump in the post-it wagon?

Well, just do it! It may start off as a reminder or as a form of communication regarding work (because e-mails are too draggy and cold at times too). Perhaps, just leave a short quote at the start if you aren't sure what can bring a smile to your colleague. Need one? Here's one. "Do you know it takes much lesser facial muscles to smile than frown? SMiLE TODAY!", or my favourite... Just draw a smiley face! Nothing much than an arc and 2 dots. That'd make a good start!

No post-its? Paper and with sticky tape works too! ;) Just be sure not to tape on their computers or personal items should it be hard to remove. Safest option, get some post-its! Grab a pen and a post-it today!

Cheers
♥ Xin! (:

CARD: Including A Mini-Postcard

Apologies for the long hiatus! We're finally back for a short little update on one of our latest 'tried and tested', cards with mini-postcards! Here's the spread out look of the opened card. The word "Thanks" was written with black marker and outlines with silver pen. (:

These polaroid-lookalike are actually a series of mini postcards. They come in handy to decorate a card, making it a small, interesting, side focal point at times! Do note, the image was edited to keep my message private, it is NOT a card/photo error.

A close up of the mini postcard! Isn't it cute? It comes in a series with many other designs and photos.

This is how the card looks like when collapsed in, the postcard is left visible as the focal point.

The flip side of the card when collapsed, a stunning image!

Small cards with mixed mediums! :D

CARD: 6x6 Envelope Album!

I've been holding back this project for some time as I knew it would require much time and even planning. I finally got about doing it last December. I've followed instructions from various youtube videos, search for "envelope album" or "paper bag album" that should give you a rough clue on it.

I made the album using three envelopes which gave me a good 6 inner sides plus a front and a back. I had a total of 6 pockets that could hold 6 other papers, photos or tags.I kept it in a Mademoiselle Garden theme keeping it bright, colourful and flowery. That helped ensure that my papers won't not clash.

I sealed the centre line between the papers with tape as it was not neat when I placed it together. Tip; it's good to cover one side with some excess paper flowing into the next page, and then overlapping with another paper of your choice on the next page, so that you don't have an empty hole should the paper for the two pages not join well in the center. Or if not, you can glue in a ribbon to cover it up too.
